I don't point out that I'm technically a scientist on the island -- not to mention one who has extensive experience with mutants -- but that's only because I don't plan on sticking around for much longer. If he is being poisoned, he'll need more time to recover than I'm willing to give.
Then again, if he is being poisoned, he's lived a long enough life. Maybe he never told her because he just wants to be done...and that's something I can understand. He's lived lifetimes. How many lives does one man need?
Madrox leaned back against one of the desks, watching Rogue carefully. The show of violence was oddly comforting -- emotions were never his forte, but anger was something else entirely. Anger was universal. Anger directed towards him was just business as usual.
"I'll keep my mouth shut," he said after a long moment. "If it helps any, I can even pretend I'm from this time period. Or leave. I'll wake up in a couple of days no matter where I am."
